Nukkad natak ‘Dastak’ staged at Modi College
A street play (nukkad natak) named ‘Dastak’ based on the theme of violence against woman was enacted at Multani Mal Modi college, Patiala. The play was a direct satire on the contemporary social, political, religious, educational and cultural realities. The play depicted how these realities are desensitizing the society. The play also conveyed a strong message against gender violence and remembered the tragedies of Nirbhaya and Kiranjeet kaur. This play was directed by Satpal Banga. Sarveer kaur, Ramandeep kaur, Vipan Joshi and Jagbir Banga played their roles effectively.
Principal of the college Dr. Khuswinder Kumar congratulated ‘People Art Patiala’ group for their sensitive and meaningful presentation. He also invited them to make it a regular event in the college. Prof. Nirmal Singh Bhatti, Dr. Gurdeep Singh Sandhu, Head, Department of Punjabi, Dr. Manjeet Kaur, Prof. Ved Parkash, Prof. Harmohan Sharma, Dr. Veerpal Kaur, Dr. Davinder Singh and other staff members were present on this eve. A large number of students appreciated the play.

ਮੁਲਤਾਨੀ ਮੱਲ ਮੋਦੀ ਕਾਲਜ, ਪਟਿਆਲਾ ਵਿਚ ‘ਨੁੱਕੜ ਨਾਟਕ’ ਖੇਡਿਆ ਗਿਆ
ਮੋਦੀ ਕਾਲਜ ਪਟਿਆਲਾ ਦੇ ਵਿਹੜੇ ਵਿਚ ‘ਪੀਪਲਜ਼ ਆਰਟ ਪਟਿਆਲਾ’ ਥੀਏਟਰ ਗਰੁੱਪ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਇੱਕ ਨੁੱਕੜ ਨਾਟਕ ‘ਦਸਤਕ’ ਖੇਡਿਆ ਗਿਆ। ਇਸ ਨਾਟਕ ਨੇ ਵਰਤਮਾਨ ਪ੍ਰਸੰਗ ਵਿਚ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਸਮਾਜਕ, ਰਾਜਨੀਤਿਕ, ਧਾਰਮਿਕ, ਵਿਦਿਅਕ ਅਤੇ ਸਭਿਆਚਾਰਕ ਅਲਾਮਤਾਂ ਉੱਤੇ ਵਿਅੰਗ ਕਸਿਆ, ਜਿਹਨਾਂ ਨੇ ਅਧੁਨਿਕ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦੀ ਚੇਤਨਾ ਅਤੇ ਸੰਵੇਦਨਾ ਨੂੰ ਨਿਯੰਤਰਿਤ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੋਇਆ ਹੈ। ਇਸ ਨਾਟਕ ਦੀ ਪੇਸ਼ਕਾਰੀ ਨੇ ਨੁੱਕੜ ਨਾਟਕ ਕਲਾ ਦੇ ਮੁੱਖ ਉਦੇਸ਼ ਦੀ ਪੂਰਤੀ ਕਰਦਿਆਂ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਵਿਭਿੰਨ ਪ੍ਰਸੰਗਾਂ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਸਾਡੇ ਸਮਾਜ ਦਾ ਕੋਝਾ ਪਾਸਾ ਦਿਖਾਇਆ। ਔਰਤ ਦੀ ਸਥਿਤੀ ਨੂੰ ਇਤਿਹਾਸਕ ਘਟਨਾਵਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਤੱਥਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਜੋੜਦਿਆਂ ਹੋਇਆਂ ਨਿਰਭੈਅ ਅਤੇ ‘ਕਿਰਨਜੀਤ’ ਵਰਗੀਆਂ ਹੋਰ ਪੀੜਤ ਕੁੜੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣਾ ਕਲਾਮਈ ਸਲਾਮ ਪੇਸ਼ ਕੀਤਾ। ਸੱਤਪਾਲ ਬੰਗਾ ਦੇ ਨਿਰਦੇਸ਼ਨ ਤਹਿਤ ਖੇਡੇ ਗਏ ਇਸ ਨੁੱਕੜ ਨਾਟਕ ਦੇ ਸਿਖਰ ਤੱਕ ਵਿਭਿੰਨ ਭੂਮਿਕਾਵਾਂ ਨਿਭਾਉਂਦਿਆਂ ਕਲਾਕਾਰ ਸਰਵੀਰ ਕੌਰ, ਰਮਨਦੀਪ ਕੌਰ, ਵਿਪਨ ਜੋਸ਼ੀ ਅਤੇ ਜਗਸੀਰ ਬੰਗਾ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਜਾਨਦਾਰ ਅਭਿਨੈ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਦਰਸ਼ਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਨਾਲ ਜੋੜੀ ਰੱਖਿਆ।
ਇਸ ਮੌਕੇ ਕਾਲਜ ਦੇ ਪ੍ਰਿੰਸੀਪਲ ਡਾ. ਖੁਸ਼ਵਿੰਦਰ ਕੁਮਾਰ ਨੇ ਇਸ ਸ਼ਾਨਦਾਰ ਪੇਸ਼ਕਾਰੀ ਲਈ ‘ਪੀਪਲਜ਼ ਆਰਟ ਪਟਿਆਲਾ’ ਦੀ ਸਮੁੱਚੀ ਟੀਮ ਨੂੰ ਮੁਬਾਰਕਬਾਦ ਦਿੱਤੀ। ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੇ ਨੁੱਕੜ ਨਾਟਕ ਦੀ ਇਸ ਪੇਸ਼ਕਾਰੀ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਸਮਾਜਕ ਚੇਤਨਾ ਜਗਾਉਣ ਦੇ ਯਤਨ ਦੀ ਸ਼ਲਾਘਾ ਕਰਦਿਆਂ ਹਰ ਸਾਲ ਇਸ ਥਇਏਟਰ ਗਰੁੱਪ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੀ ਕੋਈ ਨਾ ਕੋਈ ਪੇਸ਼ਕਾਰੀ ਕਾਲਜ ਵਿਚ ਕਰਨ ਦਾ ਸੱਦਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ।ਇਸ ਮੌਕੇ ਤੇ ਦਰਸ਼ਕਾਂ ਵਜੋਂ ਜਿੱਥੇ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਦੀ ਭਰਪੂਰ ਹਾਜਰੀ ਸੀ, ਉਥੇ ਕਾਲਜ ਫੈਕਲਟੀ ਦੇ ਸੀਨੀਅਰ ਪ੍ਰੋਫ਼ੈਸਰ ਨਿਰਮਲ ਸਿੰਘ ਭੱਟੀ, ਡਾ. ਗੁਰਦੀਪ ਸਿੰਘ ਸੰਧੂ ਮੁਖੀ, ਪੰਜਾਬੀ ਵਿਭਾਗ, ਡਾ. ਮਨਜੀਤ ਕੌਰ, ਪ੍ਰੋ. ਵੇਦ ਪ੍ਰਕਾਸ਼, ਪ੍ਰੋ.ਹਰਮੋਹਨ ਸ਼ਰਮਾ, ਡਾ. ਵੀਰਪਾਲ ਕੌਰ, ਡਾ. ਦਵਿੰਦਰ ਸਿੰਘ ਅਤੇ ਪੰਜਾਬੀ ਵਿਭਾਗ ਦੇ ਸਮੂਹ ਅਧਿਆਪਕ ਵੀ ਹਾਜਰ ਸਨ।
